Maundy Thursday Lock-In

All confirmands are expected to participate in the overnight lock-in following the Maundy Thursday service on April 5th. Other Youth Group members are invited to join in. Participants will attend a sunrise service at 6:30 A.M. followed by a light breakfast (bagel, fruit, milk/juice) and head home by 8am. Please sign up on the sign-up sheet in Hubbard Hall.

Confirmation Class

The Confirmation Class will be participating in the Maundy Thursday overnight at the church, starting with the Maundy Thursday service at 7:30 PM, April 5th through 8 AM Friday morning, April 6th . Our next class will be on Saturday, April 21st  from 9 AM – 10:30 AM in the upstairs classroom.

Easter Memorials

Look for the Easter Memorial name lists on the table in the Narthex between March 18 th and April 1st. Place a “Y” or  next to the names of people you want included on the 2012 Easter Memorials handout; write in the names of anyone missing. Please note that only those names checked off or added to the list will be included on the Easter Memorial List

We are accepting contributions for Easter lilies. Please specify “Easter Flowers” in the memo portion of your check. If you prefer to give cash, please place it in an envelope with your name on it so the treasurer can apply the amount to Easter Flowers on your quarterly giving statement.

April 3rd Tuesday in Holy Week

7:30pm – Stations of the Cross

April 4th Wednesday in Holy Week

7:30pm – Tenebrae Service

April 5th Maundy Thursday

6pm – Agape Supper
7:30pm – Holy Eucharist with foot-washing
Overnight – Youth Group and Confirmands Lock-in

April 6th Good Friday

12-1pm – Good Friday Service (church open until 3pm for meditation and devotions)
4:30pm – Children’s Service
7:30pm – Good Friday Service

April 7th Holy Saturday

12pm-3pm – Labyrinth available to walk
8pm – The Great Vigil of Easter

April 8th Sunday of the Resurrection

8:30am – Holy Eucharist
10:30am – Festive Holy Eucharist

The Musical Angels

A “help your neighbors” benefit concert for Christ the King sponsored by the South Brunswick Clergy Association will be held March 25th at 4pm in the Christ the King fellowship hall with a reception to follow.  See the attached flyer

Performers will include Lachlan Glen, master’s student of collaborative piano at the Juilliard School in NYC; The Rev. Osy Nuesch, pastor of Six Mile Run Reformed Church, trumpeter; Conrad Herwig, world-class jazz trombonist, Cantor Bruce Rockman and the Sons of Tikvah Band from B’nai Tikvah Synagogue; the. Rev. Beth Scibienski, vocalist, and Peter Reimann, pianist, Community Presbyterian Church; and Kitty Solomita, vocalist, and Pastor Kim Carlson, flutist, from Christ the King.  A free-will offering will be collected.

Northern Convocation Nominating Committee Update

If you would like to serve on the Nominating Committee for our Convocation, please let Rev. Valerie know.  This is separate from the diocesan Nominating Committee.  This group puts forth names for the various Convocation offices that will be elected in the Fall.  We need at least 3 clergy and 3 lay people to run.  Names for the Nomination Committee can be submitted from now until April 18.

Using PayPal to Contribute to St. Barnabas

PayPal LogoFor your convenience, parishioners may now use PayPal to contribute your offerings to St. Barnabas. If you already have a PayPal account log in to it. If you do not have an account but would like to set one up, go to www.paypal.com.

Detailed instructions are available for your reference. After each of your online contributions, the money will be transferred to the St. Barnabas PayPal account and an email will be sent to the pledge secretary. The pledge secretary will receive the email, record the gift, and transfer the gift to the Church’s bank account.
