How to have a memorial or funeral at St. Barnabas
The difference between a memorial and a funeral is if the remains of the departed are present at the service.
Please contact the rector as soon as possible to arrange for a service. It is most appropriate to have the service at the church, however other arrangements can be made. The rector will ask for some assistance in designing the service, such as selecting readings, music and participants, in order to make it as comforting as possible.
This service finds its meaning in the Eucharist and the rector will encourage the family to have communion during the service.
St. Barnabas currently does not have the facilities to inter or inurn cremains.
Hubbard Hall, the church’s parish hall, is available to use for a reception following the service or internment.
For cremation services, one parishioner has recommended: Direct Cremations . Contact information: James Minchin (the owner), 1-973-742-3036.
