  • If you are checking the bulletin board on our “Search Alerts” on Sundays, this week you will see that we have reached the next stepping stone. This was hardly accomplished with one “jump”. The Profile Task Committee has made many drafts but presented its final document to the Vestry Sunday, November 21, and “The Parish Profile” was accepted with minor changes. This means we are making great progress but before surging ahead need to pause and offer our prayers and thanksgiving to all members of the Profile Task Force for their dedication and perseverance. Please remember Chair, Leon Merriweather; Chaplain, Bryan Botsch; Bill Armstrong, Bill Eldred, Sandy Johnson, Jonathan Hill, Jonathan Pitt, and Gerry Welch. They have provided great leadership and
you can appreciate their work much more when you read the entire Parish Profile. The next step entails presenting the Diocese with our Profile and then the starting the process of disseminating this information to publicize our position. From this point the Discernment Committee (Search Committee), chaired by Monica Devanas, will be actively working to screen, interview, and recommend candidates to the Vestry. Thanks to everyone involved up to this point including all of you, our parishioners, who offered your prayers, thoughts, reflections, and suggestions as the profile was being formed.
  • Our Adopt a Spot campaign is under way as we prepare St. Barnabas for our new rector! If there is an area in the church or grounds that you would like to
care for because it is special to you, or know of someplace that needs a little TLC you are willing to provide, please let Susan LeDonne know. Thank you to Bob Nichols, who donated the balance of the Carol Nichols Memorial Fund to use towards the major portion of new landscaping at the front of the church between the driveway and the road. A memorial plaque for Carol will soon be forthcoming for this area near the new tree, which was to replace the weeping cherry that died last winter. The rocks in place of the junipers under the front sign will provide a neater appearance and much easier maintenance. Thank you to Leon Merriweather and Rich Goselin, who have adopted this spot. Thank you to Barbara Moreno and Linda Hampton for adopting the “old” women’s bathroom – it is now much more welcoming as it is freshly painted and spruced up with amenities.
